Manchester United won the Champions league!

The Champions League Final 2008 was played 21 May 2008 at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, Russia. The final was by Manchester United and Chelsea, representing the first time the final had been by two teams from England. United won the match 6–5 on penalties after the game had ended 1–1. Cristiano Ronaldo, John Terry and Nicolas Anelka missed the penalti kick. Cristiano Ronaldo and Frank Lampard scored the goals before 90 minutes. Ronaldo scored after 26 minutes and Lampard scored the goal after 45 minutes. Ryan Giggs came on and created a new club record with 759 matches. Didier Drogba hit Nemanja Vidic and were sent off early in the match. Edwin van der Sar saved the lastest kick from Nicolas Anelka to crown Manchester United as the champions of Europe for the third time.
